My Story

I am a first-generation Asian American, the daughter of Thai and Chinese immigrants who built their lives and livelihoods in Durham, North Carolina. My parents owned and operated their own businesses for over 30 collective years, and growing up in that environment, I learned that work ethic is more than long hours—it is showing up for people, anticipating needs, and building lasting connections. Those lessons have shaped not just my career but also my commitment to the communities I am part of.

The name Jade Rabbit holds special meaning for me, rooted in East Asian folklore. In the story, the Jade Rabbit lives quietly on the moon, crafting elixirs of life with patience and purpose, not for recognition but because the work itself carries meaning. This symbol captures how I approach my work, bringing intention, dedication, and a behind-the-scenes focus to everything I do. It is about creating the space for ideas, stories, and visions to grow into something real and lasting.

This approach carries over into my personal life. I am a lifelong swimmer and survival swim instructor, a mother to two kids, and a lover of food, cooking, and the arts. These experiences keep me curious and adaptable, shaping the perspective and energy I bring to every project.

Whether I am building a production schedule, designing programs for community growth, managing a creative team, or teaching in the pool, I approach each project with the same ethos I learned growing up in my family’s restaurants: work hard, care for people, and create something worth sharing.
